 Modular Flavour Dispensing System

Application:

 The application of flavouring, aroma or other fluids in a measured, repeatable way.

Overview:

A modular flavour application system that can be built up to meet the users precise requirements. The system comprises:

  • Base Unit - the most basic configuration the user can purchase.
  • Options - additional features above the base specification that can be specified by the user to enahnce the Base Unit to meet their needs.
  • Additional Products - a range of additional products to complement that Base Unit

Key Features

Base Unit

  • Pump Maximum flow of 290ml per minute, dependant on material and output fluid path.
  • Case Partially enclosed stainless steel, sheet construction.
  • Filter Input filter to protect pump.
  • Flow Sensor Pressure sensor located after the pump to warn of restrictions / blockages to flow.
  • Power Single phase 120 - 250V ac input, with internal DC supply.
  • Connections ¼” BSP male fittings on both input and output to fluid path.
  • CE The system will be CE compliant.
  • Control Built in standard PLCC to enable the controlling or monitoring of:
  1. Speed For applications where the amount to be dispensed is relative to speed of another process. This enables a pulsed speed signal to be read by the unit.
  2. Tank Level An input from an external pressure transducer allowing for the monitoring of fluid level in an external tank connected to the fluid input.
  3. Aux 1 in An auxiliary input for monitoring some process specific switched state.
  4. Aux 2 in As Aux 1 in.
  5. Fault A switched output to signal a fault condition to an external piece of equipment.
  6. Aux 1 out A switched output to signal to an external piece of equipment.
  7. Aux 2 out As Aux 1 out.

Options

The following will be offered as options above the Base specification. Note the PTFE free option will be offered as standard to all tobacco customers:

  • None PTFE; No PTFE used in any of the fluid path.
  • ATEX; An ATEX compliant unit available for flammable liquids.
  • Flow Meter An integrated flowmeter to ensure the correct amounts of fluid are dispensed.
  • HMI An industrial touch screen HMI enabling greater control and monitoring of the system parameters, through an intuitive GUI.
  • Input Valve Isolation valve on the input to the unit.
  • Output Valve Isolation valve on the output of the unit.
  • Connections A selection of different input and output fluid connections to suit the customers requirements, including ‘self-sealing’ quick release couplings.

 

Additional Products

To complement the system, there will be a range of additional products that can be used with the dispenser to build modular system.

a) Tanks A range of free standing tanks of different capacities, all available, either unheated or with any combination of the following heating:

  • Base A silicone heater mat fitted to the base of the tank.
  • Jacket An outer silicone heater mat.
  • Core Cartridge heaters used to heat the core of the medium in the tank.

In addition the tanks will also have the following options:

  • Sensor A pressure transducer to allow for fluid level sensing.
  • ATEX An ATEX version available for flammable liquids.
  • Recirculation Pumped recirculation to maintain homogenisation of substances or to reduce melt time. The latter would be heated.

b) Hoses A range of hoses for both input and output to the system, available in different lengths and configurations, including heated. .

Notes

  • Each application differs: The type of cigarette paper, tobacco, machine operating speed, flavour dosage and operating cleanliness can all affect quality of the end product and the efficiency of the parent making machine..
  • Not to be used with lubricated air supplies.
  • The Flavour System is designed for use with many different flavours (within specific parameters), prior to use please ensure the flavour you intend to dispense complies with the below information and that the unit is operated in accordance with the instructions provided in the manual:

Liquids with a flashpoint ≤40°C
NOT SUITABLE FOR USE WITH THIS SYSTEM.

Liquids with a flashpoint >40°C and ≤90°C
Suitable for use in ‘Cold Flavour Mode’, please see manual for operating instructions.

Heated flavours with a flashpoint >90°C
Can be used without changes to the units’ configuration

Flavour Specification:
Typical flavour application includes Menthol (crystal or solution), Mint, Fruit, Clove, Vanilla, Liqueurs flavouring. Menthol crystals, natural or synthetic. Viscosity, not critical. Other flavours may also be applied. Please contact Kaymich to confirm compatibility.
